Where are you located?

WWDR is a foster-based organization located in Cumming, GA. We do not have a kennel facility but have our Wigglers in foster homes throughout the greater Atlanta area. This also means we DO NOT have a kennel facility with open hours to meet adoptable dogs. One-on-one meets are scheduled by our Adoption Coordinator once an application is approved.

 How does fostering work?

You provide the love and patience while we provide the rest! When our pups come in from the shelter or another type of situation they always go to the vet first for a physical, vaccinations, and microchip, and their spay or neuter will be scheduled. Once cleared they are transported to the foster for a meet and greet. All supplies are provided such as a crate, bowls, blankets, toys, bones, and food (if requested). Their monthly heartworm will be delivered to your home, mailed, or distributed at adoption events depending on distance and circumstance. If you need additional supplies while fostering we will provide them or reimburse you for approved purchases. Training sessions are held two Thursdays a month and all fosters are welcome to attend. Private lessons can be scheduled on a case-by-case basis.

How can I meet a dog?

The only way to have a meet and greet with a specific dog is through our application process. We do have adoption events where the pup you are interested may or may not be participating. With notice, we may be able to arrange their attendance. We are a foster-based rescue and DO NOT have a public kennel facility for walk-in meet and greets.

What is your adoption process?

We begin with an application, which you can access here. We will select the applicant we believe to be the best match for the dog and schedule a meet and greet at the applicant's home with all household members and any pets living in the home. If everyone is confident with the match that pup will stay that day. *Applicants must be at least 25 years or older.

Do you allow out-of-state adoptions?

Yes, we will require videos and pictures of your home with your application.

What are your adoption fees?

An adoption fee for puppies is $400 and a pup over the age of one year old is $350.

What vetting is included in the adoption fee?

Wigglers receive, at minimum, a full physical, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, fecal test, heartworm test, and heartworm prevention is taken monthly. Most dogs from the shelter or strays come in with poor skin and coat conditions, are underweight, and with small abrasions from their previous environments. These are all treated under the supervision of foster families and our vet. Medical cases, mass removals, and or dental can reach into the thousands. We have a flat adoption fee and medical care is paid for solely through donations.

How is your rescue organization funded?

Wags and Wiggles Dog Rescue is 100% donation-funded and volunteer-run! We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and donations are tax-deductible. Funds are raised from adoption fees, donations, adoption events, community programs, grants, and fundraisers. All funds are put directly back into the rescue primarily for vetting and supplies to continue to save Georgia dogs.
